How to pass the OPRA exam

There's no shortcut, but there is a method. Here's how successful candidates prepare for the OPRA exam (formerly KAPS) — and the mistakes that cost people a re-sit.

The five things that matter most

  • Know the format — 120 questions, blueprint-weighted across five domains
  • Study by yield — Therapeutics is the biggest slice, so start there
  • Drill calculations from week one — they're the most common failure point
  • Sit full timed mocks — pacing and stamina are skills you have to practise
  • Review every wrong answer's reasoning, not just the correct key

Common mistakes

Leaving calculations until the end. Doing endless untimed questions but never a full timed mock. Memorising answers instead of the underlying method. Studying every domain equally instead of weighting effort toward the largest ones.
